Fast Koenigsegg Agera R Takes to Michelin Supercar Run

Simply the fastest accelerating supercar at Goodwood this year was the latest Koenigsegg Agera R, seen on the Michelin stand in stunning red and on the hill in the Michelin Supercar Run.

The 2013 model features new Aircore hollow carbon fibre wheels, uprated power and enhanced aerodynamics. The Agera R has an incredible top speed of approximately 273  mph and has set some incredible acceleration and deceleration records with Michelin -  0-300 km/h in 14.53 sec, 300-0 km/h in 6.66 sec and 0-200 mph in 17.68 sec, 200-0 mph in 7.28 sec.

The Agera R has another interesting facet which separates it from other hypercar makers as it is built to run on both petrol and E85 biofuel.

At Goodwood we grabbed the chance to talk to the sole UK dealer, Super Vettura, based on the doorstep of Wentworth golf course in Virginia Water, Surrey. “We ran the Agera here last year for the first time and are delighted to be back supporting the Michelin Supercar Run “, said Tommy Wareham. “Sales of hypercars are relatively small, just two or three a year, but what we are kept busy with is servicing and moving our customers cars for them from one house in one continent to another home on the other side of the world.

Super Vettura fly out to a car’s location, which can be anywhere in the world, with all the parts need for service and then locate a suitable local workshop to carry out the work. “There are less than 15 Koenigseggs in the UK, so our work is much more than just selling cars”, added Tommy. “Although the UK is one of the more popular markets for the car alongside the USA and China.
